Since 2021 I’ve had to replace my Konnected panel 3 times. First, the ethernet port was hosed. Then they sent me a replacement and the USB header snapped off. Now my board has seized up and isn’t recoverable. So, I’m stuck paying another $200 because, of course, I’m out of warranty once again. The idea is great, the execution is what is not working. When this board fails, and history tells me it will, I will be moving on to something else. Sorry for the negativity, but something needs to change to make the hardware more reliable.
hey @nbtc971 sorry about the frustration
The weak USB header issue was fixed years ago, in hardware version 1.7 and later, so that definitely won’t crop up again.
Could you describe what happened to the most recent board that caused it to fail? Did you try re-flashing it with a computer/PC at install.konnected.io?
Yes, the header issue wasn’t a problem after I got the replacement board. This time, I hadn’t touched the panel since I wired it probably 2 years ago.. then one night I opened a door that should of set off the alarm, but it didn’t go off. I found that the panel had a solid blue light and opened a case. I followed the instructions to reset it to factory and it didn’t work, still a solid blue light.
So, I hadn’t touched the panel in a long time and was doing nothing with it when it failed. I have since purchased another replacement and I’m waiting for it to arrive.
I did not attempt a re-flash since that wasn’t suggested to me in my case. But I guess it’s too late now anyway.
same thing for me, mostly. i ended up converting to zooz zen 17 relays, and may buy the new unifi alarm panel when it comes out
