Messages about sync failure

I am getting an infinite list of messages in the web interface that look like this:

Is this normal? The blaQ seems to be working – insofar as I can activate Pre-close Warning and get a response. The first blaQ that I configured did not do this (or maybe I just did not notice).

Not normal. Synced: false means that the GDO blaQ has not synced the rolling code to control the garage opener motor. Some reasons for this could be:

  1. incorrect wiring
  2. poor contact on wiring
  3. incompatible garage opener
  4. incorrect Security+ protocol selected

Post a pic of the back of your garage opener motor showing the wiring terminals and learn button and we can help narrow it down from there.

Oh. I have not connected the blaQ to the garage door opener yet. I was just working on getting it connected to wifi (step 1 in the instructions). So you are saying that after I connect it, you expect that the messages will stop. I was imagining that the blaQ was acting simply as a switch closure, but I think you are telling me that it is actually communicating with the garage opener motor using a digital protocol. Live and learn.

Yes, correct. The Synced: false is normal if the garage opener isn’t wired up!

That’s the magic of the GDO blaQ! It emulates the digital communication protocol that a Chamberlain/LiftMaster wall button would use. So yes, once you wire it up and reboot, it will sync with the opener and Synced: true should show up after a minute or two.

All good. Now I am getting lots of these messages:

08:18:00 [D] [sensor:104]
'Uptime': Sending state 64502.38281 s with 0 decimals of accuracy
08:18:15 [D] [sensor:104]

These look normal to me. Thanks for the quick reply. Also thanks for the “pass-thru” feature. Genius. These units are actually very easy to connect and configure, and you thoughtfully included everything including command strips for mounting.

Yes, these are normal periodic health metrics.
Glad you got it working.
