I just replaced an older smart opener on my LiftMaster (yellow learn button) garage door opener with the GDO Blaq. Overall I love it because I don’t need an open/close sensor and a remote dangling off my smart opener!
I’m running into a small problem that I think is partially related to the Blaq. After a few days, the manual button of my opener stops working. When it’s in this phase and I click the button, it just kind of blinks. Sometimes it’ll eventually open the door and then after a few more days it just stops working all together.
The only reason I suspect the Blaq is somehow contributing to this is because it happened right after I installed it and if I disconnected the Blaq, unplug my garage door, then plug it back in everything starts working again - manual button and all. Then it goes through the same cycle of kinda working until it stops working all together.
When it’s in this failure state, the Blaq functions normally - it still opens/closes and reports the state to Home Assistant. Our wireless openers for our cars also continue to work.
My firmware version is 1.5.4 and the security+ setting is set to security+ 2.0. I’m not sure how else to troubleshoot this!
Ah, I thought that might be the case. We’ve had several reports of this issue and @Ryan_P has been investigating it. A firmware update to address this is on its way.
Project version 1.5.5 for the GDO blaQ was just released. This should help the issue, if not fully resolve it. After updating the firmware to 1.5.5.x, open the internal web page of the GDO blaQ and press the Re-sync button. This will assign a new clientId to the device internally and should behave nicer with the 882LM going forward.
@nate just an update - so far, so good! It did take a few days to a week or more for the issue to pop up, but it was happening before I upgraded the firmware and stopped as soon as I upgraded. I’ll keep monitoring and report back!
It’s been close to two weeks and I haven’t been having the same problems with this any longer! So from my perspective the firmware update was indeed helpful.
