GDO White - One of Three Stuck Unable to Update

My three GDO White’s and Info…

  1. konnected-f4cfa26f68d8, 1.2.4.2, Updated some time ago with the app.
  2. konnected-f4cfa26febeb, 1.2.2.2, Get “Let’s configure all the things!” and stuck.
  3. Konnected-f4cfa26f6165, 1.2.4.3, Updated a few days ago with the app.

I had tried updates a long while ago, got stuck, and just came back to the complete the effort.
My #2 GDO is stuck, likely from the original attempt a long ago. How do I unstick it?
Taking a laptop to it and cable updating is doable, but no fun. Ladder, etc.
Can this one be unstuck so I can update from the Konnected app or do I really have to cable it up?

Thanks,
Steve

Try it now.

Looks like this device was originally on our older original firmware and was later updated to ESPHome. I updated the platform on our back-end.

Thanks. That did it, as expected.
All my GDOs now run 1.2.4.
GDO #2 and #3 in my home get a weak WiFi signal.
GDO #1 gets 66% now and #2 and #3 are not responding. I see 44% and the like.
Sometimes all are on-line.
I know the solution, but for now is there a way to improve their antenna?
Thanks.
SK!

No, the antenna is internal and not modifiable.

I would suggest either upgrading to a mesh WiFi network with better signal in the garage. Or, try upgrading our or GDO White v2 which has a newer, more powerful chip. Maybe upgrade one of them first to see how much improvement you get.

I don’t know what replacing my original GDO White will do.
I’ve long been thinking about a range extender or repurposing my Synology RT2600ac as one and getting a new Synology router (I like them).
Thinking about why my connection has deteriorated, I just changed my WiFi channel number from 1 to 2, as 1 is often used. Perhaps a neighbor is using it?
While signal level has barely changed, connectivity improved.
The Konnected app was getting poor response from the two distant GDOs, but now it is instantaneous and complete from each.
No more blinking blue lights too.
Simple fix and improvement.

One final problem remains unresolved.
No more blue blinking in any GDO.
In the Konnected app, each will open the device web page and each is responsive.
But, still GDO#3, furthest from the router, does not respond to the Hubitat device button on my dashboard. It has signal strength 44%, GDO#2 shows 42%.
In all other respects, it works properly.
In the Hubitat device for GDO#3, the Events tab shows current actions.
In the Konnected app, I can open/close the door.
The dashboard does not show correct opened/closed state unless I perform a refresh.
Any hints on problem?
I might later delete and re-create the device, but that seems last straw.
Or power cycle all from the garage circuit breaker.

Check that your Hubitat drivers are up to date. If you are using HPM you can update from HPM. Otherwise re-upload our ZIP package for Hubitat. There was an update back in March or April I think that fixed a connectivity issue in the ESPHome library.

That was absolutely it.
I’d been assuming that Hubitat updates everything when it is updated, the splash screen shows it updating this and that during reboot.
This and that was not everything.
All my stuff is back in order after a neighbor must have moved/updated their access point and began interfering with my use of channel 1 and with secondary effects of ESPHome updates on my GDOs.
Looking forward to the next new products from Konnected.
Cheers,
SK!
