It has a red square learn button, and says “Security+” on the side. It is an older unit from 03/99. It has 3 screw terminals. I have the GDO Blaq connected to the #1 Red terminal (Red stripe wire) and the #2 White terminal (White Wire). I can connect to the GDO Blaq via wifi, but it will not control the Liftmaster 41A5021-D at all. Any suggestions?
Set to Security+ 1.0 manually, and the Blaq appears to sync, but still fails to control the 41A5021. I also tried this with the wall button disconnected, but same results. The Blaq always shows the door as open, and will initiate warnings when attempting to shut the door, but it doesn’t appear to get any feedback from the Liftmaster.
I have a Craftsman that looks very similar and always shows the door as open too. I have the protocol set to security+1.0 with firmware 1.4.01. I have tried disconnecting the “smart” panel and it still doesn’t control the door.
My unit does work via a simple dry contact, but I couldn’t get security+ to work from the Blaq at all. I returned the Blaq and considered going to the White variant, but there are less expensive products that handle a dry contact GDO.
Some of the older (like 1990s) models with red buttons don’t seem to work using the wireline protocol. Unfortunately we don’t have a good way yet of determining exactly which models fit into that group. Thanks for this feedback and hopefully soon we can compile a list of these older models that don’t work.
