Hi, I just purchased a Deltabell X for use with my alarm panel pro but I’m having issues getting it working. I’ve seen the other posts on the deltabell but I’ve had no luck.
I wired the 12v+ to 12+, 12v- to Aux- and strobe/bell to Alarm -. When 12v is conncted the alarm has a blinking led to show it’s live. When i try to activate the siren from the Konnected panel in home aasistant nothing happens but every few activations when the button is switched off i get a brief strobe and siren.
Im also having issues with the panel losi g connection after a few goes and a vlue flashing led coming on. Disconnecting the bell and restarting the alarm panel pro resolves this. I have constant 7ish volts across strobe/bell and 12v+. Panel is powered by POE+.
Just wanted to follow up on this. i hooked up a battery to the deltabell instead of the konnected panel and as soon as i ground either the strobe or the siren with a jumper wire they activate.
I hooked back up to my panel with just 12v, did the same test by grounding out the strobe and it worked fine. im wondering if I have a setup issue or something with the panel. As soon as I hook up the strobe or siren to the Alarm output the red led illuninates. When i press the button in home assistant the red led blinks.
I’m also wondering if it’s possible to use the Alarm output to trigger a relay to stop the output always seeing the constant voltage across the strobe which the deltabell seems to have.
@nate is there anything you can think of? Thank you
That’s exactly how i have it wired. The issue seems to be that the deltabell has constant 10v at the strobe. As soon as I connect the strobe to the Konnected panel the red led illuninates. When i activate the Alarm output the red led blinks. When I deactivate the Alarm i get a brief blue led.
If I jump strobe or bell to +12v they work as normal.
I have a similar issue with this sounder in that my STB connection is causing the Konnected board to light the red LED at the ALARM2 output where it’s connected.
It does work though and the only thing I can think of with yours is that the sounder wont work if the tamper was activated when it powered up. If you tape the tamper switch closed and disconnect the power, does it then work?..
Morning. Sorry to jump on your post out of the blue. But could i clarify what your final wiring setup was. Was it as Nate said above, shorting the tamper to Aux - or different?
Im about to buy either the Pyronix delta or Texecom Odyssey 5 which appear to have similar wiring posts.
My wiring is exactly as above with the tamper jumped to negative. I also taped the tamper switch shut because I’m not concerned about someone trying to open the deltabell which is mounted high up on the front of my house.
Updating the panel to ESPHome helped a lot.
I do have another issue with using the deltabell which I would urge caution with. If for any reason the konnected panel loses power (power cut/breaker trip etc) then my alarm sensors all show as unavailable in home assistant when power is restored. My only solution is to remove power from the konnected panel, disconnect one of the aux power cables going to the deltabell, power up the konnected panel, wait for the sensors to show as available in home assistant, then reconnected the aux power to the deltabell.
This is obviously a pain. Soon I’m either going to try powering the deltabell independently, or putting a zigbee relay in there and using HA automations to control it but I’m not sure how reliable that will be. The konnected panel and deltabell just don’t look like a great match and i suspect that’s due to the deltabell.
The last thing I might try is run the konnected panel as the native alarm instead of alarmo and see how that behaves.
Im thinking of trying the Texecom, purely on aesthetics more than anything else.
Im presuming your issue is with wireless sensors and not those hardwired in? I am in a good position that im renovating so can add all the wired sensors i need straight back to the board. I only need HA for the front end at the tablet for setting etc, or did it not matter and was a problem either way?
Ive got the pro so came with Esphome as standard. Im a bit gutted i cant use Smartthings whilst using HA though. Missus needs it to be simple to use it, so initially was gonna set her up ST and me use HA. Who knows, maybe there’ll be a work around somewhere
I’m using the pro too but I bought it before the ESPHome integration.
All my sensors are wired, apologies I guess what’s actually happening is the panel itself is offline and I get a blue flashing led. The Deltabell has current acoss the strobe/bell at rest and that’s what I believe the issue is. When my pro panel is running the red led is on as if it’s in alarm, i presume because there’s voltage on those outputs.
I have only ever used the pro panel through HA and never the Konnected app. It works great except when restarted which obviously is an issue if you’re not home but even still is inconvenient.
I haven’t heard of the texecom, what model is that? I’d be open to something else so let me know how you get on please.
Im holding off until ive got the outdoor bell before installing it all. Im also rewiring it all to the attic so cant report on any issues yet.
The bell that I’ve seen is the Texecom Odyssey 5/5e. It appears to be very similarly wired and also has a Low power setting. Not sure if ill be able to make use of it or not.
