I have a LiftMaster 83650 and I’ve been successfully using the gdo blaq for about 6 months. After a few wall button firmware fixes, this thing has been nothing short of amazing.
Within the last month or so, we’ve been having this issue where after the door has opened, randomly the LiftMaster will start blinking like the obstruction sensors were triggered. It always happens after the door has opened. There is sometimes also beeping and I haven’t been able to pinpoint if it’s from the blaq or the Liftmaster.
Well fast forward to today, the Liftmaster is just completely dead. Wall button is dead, light won’t turn on - nothing. The Liftmaster should be under warranty as its only about 1 year and a half old, but I’m just wondering if there’s anything the gdo blaq does during the interaction that would cause the opener to fail prematurely? I want to say there’s no way this should cause any sort of failure like this, but I’m mostly curious. I’m going to remove the blaq temporarily while I get the installer to replace the opener and then reinstall afterwards.
Thanks for the insight!
Edit: My garage door guy replaced the opener, I hooked the gdo blaq back up and I’m back to having no issues. Still curious if anyone has seem similiar behavior. I’m guessing it was just a weird quirk.
