Behavior questions for GDO Blaq and Hubitat

Setup: GDO Blaq with firmware 1.4.1.2 connected directly to a Liftmaster Model 85503-267 (made in 2021) with MyQ. Running Hubitat on Platform Version 2.4.2.131, Hardware Version C-8 Pro.

Problem #1: No audible Pre-Close Warning sounds
Is the Blaq unit supposed to make a sound when closing? Standing right under it, with ears less than 4 feet away, I hear nothing (I’ve set “Digdug” as the sound, duration 5 seconds – this tests fine on my iPhone’s speaker). The LED in the Blaq unit does flash.

Problem #2: If door is open, setting to 50% open doesn’t work – door just closes.
I have the following Button Controller rule that fails to stop the door at 50% if the door starts at OPENED (the rule works if the door starts at CLOSED).

The rule is activated by pushing a button on a remote control unit.

Any advice/assistance/information would be much appreciated!

Yes, there should be an audible pre-closing warning the plays at the same time as the blinking LED. Please try changing the sound in the firmware settings to the default sound (make sure you build & update the firmware after doing so). If that still doesn’t work, then there may be a hardware issue with the device. Reach out to us at help@konnected.io to further troubleshoot.

It is a known issue that the partial opening/closing only works (on most openers) in the opening direction. This is something we’re still investigating and may be fixed in a future firmware update.

I didn’t see any listing for a “default” sound, so I kept “digdug” instead and increased the duration from 5 secs. to 20 secs., and that worked.

The default sound is called Ominous.

Interesting that increasing the duration fixed it. It might be something specific with that Digdug audio. I’ll try to investigate that at some point.

Thank you for the info! You might want to flag “ominous” as the default sound in the user interface.
