I have 4 Konnected Alarm Boards installed. They worked flawlessly for a very long time, but now I am getting “Authentication expired for Alarm Board …”. I had to replace my router and put in a TP-Link. That is the only change and I don’t know why that would affect it.
I get this error message multiple times a day and my alarm system does not work at all until I do a repair. The repair works automatically sometimes and other times it throws a dialog box telling me to put in the encryption key. I can find the key in ESPHome and paste it into the dialog box. Sometimes it works, sometimes it tells me it is the wrong encryption key (even though it is correct), and sometimes it tells me it failed.
I have spent weeks trying to figure this out on my own. I’m stumped. Anyone else seen this before? Any ideas of what is going on and what is causing this error?
Are you managing the device fimware via ESPHome dashboard or have you updated the firmware using the Konnected app?
If you’re using ESPHome dashboard and managing your own firmware, you can find the encryption key in ESPHome dashboard to copy/paste.
If you’ve used the Konnected app to customize and update the firmware, and you have enabled the Native API encryption option in the firmware settings, then you can copy the encryption key from the Konnected app.
Thanks for the response. I am doing all of this remotely, so I cannot use the Konnected app since I am not on the same network. I have a Nabu Casa VPN account and have been managing all of this through my web browser and ESP Home.
I have tried copying and pasting the encryption key in the YAML code from ESP Home at least a hundred times (no exaggeration). Sometimes if I just click on the repair dialog in Home Assistant’s Settings, it says success even without an encryption key. Sometimes it pops up the dialog box requesting the encryption key. When I add the encryption key, sometimes it says it is successful, sometimes it is not - even though I have the correct encryption key. Regardless of how I get it to work, 5 minutes or 15 minutes or some other random time period later, I get the same Repair message and the Alarm Panels do not communicate.
If anyone knows how to fix this, it’s you. So again, thanks for helping.
