A few questions and/or bugs i've noticed with BlaQ

Hello I am starting to replace my old ESP8266 custom door openers with the konnected system for reliability and simplicity. I started with a blaq unit for a Chamberlain rjo20 unit. I have updated everything to the newest version and I am using the security 1.0 with wall panel option.

The first issue I am having is I have noticed that the door fails to close all the time. The unit goes through its flashing and tones but the door doesn’t close. The unit believes its closing though so it gets stuck in this state of no control unless I reboot the unit. I am wondering if there is a configuration issue or what may be causing this.

The second and third issues stem from the partial close feature as i have a huge 20ft door and it takes some time to open/close.

So to start with the second issue. (This may be very picky but its a feature i saw and i want) in home assistant i cant see the current status of the door. In promo videos it showed the percentage open and closed the door was but i don’t see that when the door is moving. I do see it in the web ui however. Can i fix this?

Third, Opening to say 50% works fine, however if the door is already open and i go to 50% the door will do there then start opening back up, just like what would happen if you click the button. Maybe there should be an option to (double click) for doors that do this?

I appreciate the feedback and look forward to getting these kinks worked out. Thanks!

Hi @austin.detzel, and welcome to the Konnected fam!

I’m most concerned about this. It should reliably close every time, so if it’s not then something is not working correctly. The one case where this is known to be an issue is on Australia & European models without an infrared safety beam installed. If that applies to you, see this article: https://support.konnected.io/toggle-only-mode-on-the-gdo-blaq

I’m not familiar with this one. What color and shape is the “learn button” on the back of the motor unit?

This should work out-of-the box. Click the three lines icon to show the slider view in the Home Assistant garage door (cover) entity.

I have noticed this as well on the jackshaft openers. To be honest we have not attempted to solve this yet. I’ll add it to the list
