Trying to update in Hubitat (port differences?)

Hi,

I’m trying to get my Alarm Panel Pro working with the current Hubitat software but am not having success.

Firmware 1.1.2-795643
Konnected project version 1.3.7

Previously I had this setup in my Hubitat using all legacy apps and drivers. I started out by deleting the installed devices and app, then purging the app and device code from my Hubitat.

I then used HPM to install the new Alarm Panel universal, following the instructions I added the panel’s IP address and essentially nothing further happened.

I can see in the event logs the Hubitat is attempting to reach the panel on port 6053, which is unexpected by me as the panel is listening on 9123, always has.

So, it seems pretty clear there’s something I’m not comprehending, or have done wrong …

You need to update it to the new ESPHome firmware platform to use the new Hubitat Alarm Panel Universal driver. This is the newest and recommended for new installations.

Go to install.konnected.io and re-flash it with the Made for ESPhome firmwware.

Then, follow these steps:

Ok, thanks @nate … so this requires a usb connection from my PC to the Alarm Panel? (ie, can’t work over IP)

Is there any kind of additional, non-obvious, pre-reqs? (thinking like, COM port emulation app etc)

Yes, you will need to use a USB cable for the one-time switch to the new ESPHome platform. After that, incremental updates can be done over the air.

Depending on your computer operating system, you may need to install a driver. See:
