New house! Huzzah! Hrm. What are all these grey wire’s dangling in the basement?
Had a chat with the previous owner - “Had a friend who owned an alarm system company. He came out and wire everything up, but schedules collided and we never finished it. I think the only thing that’s left is the brains to make it all work.”
Sweet! Traced out the wiring and realized two things. 1) They did a TERRIBLE job wiring (a different rant). 2) They installed the “hidden” recessed contact sensors in all the windows on the ground floor and every door but the front door (who knows why).
This should be easy!
Konnected Winter Sale + Christmas money = Huzzah, a new Konnected system! Wired it up and… nothing. Hrm. Let’s fast-forward through the trouble shooting…
They drilled 3/4" holes and put a cap in… The wire is simply curled back on itself and left sitting in the hole… I know. I know. I should have checked first…
So… yeah. They pulled the wiring in place. They drilled holes. I have the Konnected system. I now need the recessed sensors. So back to the store I go!
Except…
The ones in the store are 3/8" so I’d have to MacGyver some way to keep them in place without letting water in. If that was the only issue I might still give them a try. But, I have to drill 3/4" into the window?? Even if I trusted myself not to break the glass doing that (which I’m not sure I do - and I am NOT taking these windows out to do more precision drilling), I’m not sure some of these frames I could go that deep (these are fairly old windows - primary reason why I’m not taking them out, secondary being that it’s really cold out right now! ).
I went looking and I found a few others recessed sensors that use much slimmer magnets that are drilled into the window and I’ve found other recessed sensors that fit in the 3/4" hole - but they all seem to be for things like wireless setups or for proprietary interfaces.
Anyone have any suggestions for a 3/4" width and hopefully not very deep into the window sensors that will work with Konnected?
Introducing Honeywell’s exclusive Staggered “T” Terminal Contacts. The staggered design means larger screw terminals and easier wiring. Exclusive Staggered “T” terminals eliminate splice, solder and tape and are compatible with standard size screwdrivers.

This is not a product we normally carry, but if you’re interested I can special order for you. They’re not that cheap though … about $6 each.
Yes those will for sure work. I don’t see this exact model on my suppliers catalog, but I can ask them if they can get it if you want. Or if you can find it elsewhere that’s fine too!
No, not yet. Last I heard they were checking with the manufacturer about the minimum order quantity. They don’t carry the PFC40N but they do have PFC40-1 in-stock. PFC40-1 may be the same thing except with a plastic case over the magnet. Maybe you can pop the magnet out of the plastic if you don’t need it?
