I have a bit of a mystery. After everything working fine for 4 months (rock solid) and me not changing a thing, today all Konnected devices showed as offline in SmartThings. The Konnected status page on the local network works - mostly. Every now and then it is unreacheable. The WiFi signal strength is 90% (router right outside alarm box).
I am a bit unsure what happened, but I don’t think it is within my network. Is there an AWS issue? My internet has been up consistently, though one other device had unusual DNS issues the other day (had to force it to use Google’s DNS server, despite it working fine for 4 years). My LAN uses double-NAT (modem hooked up to router WAN port without bridging mode), but everything worked fine previously. Seems like things went offline in the last day (based on SmartThings sensor history).
Any suggestions? Should I reconnect the service with SmartThings?
At the moment, I can’t monitor or control my alarm remotely.
UPDATE: issue resolved for now. Yesterday, the behaviour I saw was that the Konnected device was constantly disconnecting and reconnecting to WiFi. I read elsewhere that this can happen if it cannot contact the AWS service. The blue light would blink each time, and the ‘uptime’ on the status page never got much beyond 20 seconds (status page loading on and off). Just now, I saw the uptime was > 2hr, but it didn’t show as online yet. I triggered a reboot, and now everything is back to normal (devices online in SmartThings and Google Home). I still don’t know what caused the connectivity issue though (my ISP?). It could be good if the status page could show errors like this (and maybe not reboot as often).
