Which is the preferred (most reliable) method for HomeKit integration? Matter or HomeBridge plugin?

If you already have/use HomeBridge, I would go with the HomeBridge plugin developed by Kyle Boyer: GitHub - KyleBoyer/homebridge-blaq: Homebridge plugin to control garage doors with Konnected's GDO BlaQ

The Matter firmware has been reliable, but it’s missing a lot of features that the fully supported integrations have. I think after Matter v1.5 is rolled out we’ll be able to better support the GDO blaQ with Matter.

I get it into HomeKit via the HomeKit Bridge integration in Home Assistant and it works perfectly.

All you need to make sure to do in Home Assistant, is on the ‘Garage Door Opener’ entity in Home Assistant, change the ‘Show As’ setting to… ‘Garage Door’.

After that, it’s just perfect, Siri works perfectly “Hey Siri, open the garage door” etc.
