Garage-door-gdov2-q :: Door Open State (when Closed)

Hi,

I’ve just installed two of these devices. They’re online and added to Home Assistant. Firmware is 1.3.1.1 (ESPHome 2024.9.1). Both report the Garage Doors as open, when they are closed. Is there some initial sync, or configuration steps I need to do once I have wired them in? This is hooked into a Yellow button garage opener.

Many thanks,
Chris

Looking at the log, I don’t think either device is sync’ing …

I have enabled learn in the Konnected device, then opened and closed the garage. Still the device reports the same in the logs, and the door shows as open, when it is closed (plus it cannot operate the door).

I don’t know if the blaq is different but on the white:

I’ll be installing these soon and connecting to HA. I hope I don’t have these issues. :man_shrugging:

Write to the support email address, they are really good at getting back to you. Maybe just link to this post so that everyone gets the benefit of the answer?

FYI: Th Blaq device doesn’t have an optical laser sensor.

Just to update everyone. We got it working (thanks to Konnected support). A couple of points to bear in mind.

  • This is a UK deployment (Liftmaster LM60EV). The module needs to go into Port0 and Port2. Not as described in the installation docs.

  • Leaving the module to Auto, set it to “security+1.0 with smart panel”. This was incorrect, and we needed to force it to “Security 2.0” (the lift is a yellow button device).

  • We needed patience! Wire it up correctly, set the correct security protocol, and then click the Learn button. Then we needed to leave it alone for almost a day. After that time, the devices sync’d, and correctly reported door state.

  • Specific to this install. Unlike US regulations for IR beam sensors. This install does not have IR beams for objects blocking the door. The lift contains a resistance sensor that reverses the operation. So I needed to enable the “Toggle only” option in the module. I’m going to re-visit this setting when I am back on-site.

Hope this helps.
