Does konnected support shock/intertia sensors for windows

Hi folks,

Has anyone configured the shock/inertia sensors for windows? I mean ones that is not open/close magnetic window/door sensors.
It works on vibration/banging on the windows.

Thanks,
Jay

Do you have a pic or a link?

The method of detection is not really the important factor, it’s the wiring type which matters. If the sensor you’re thinking about is an “dry contact loop” like typical alarm systems sensors, then yes.

Hi Nate,
Thanks for your reply.
I’m attaching pictures of the window sensors we have. Its very common in Ireland and most probably in the UK.

Based on the photos they appear to be HKC brand shock sensors:

I could not find much online about how they work or a wiring diagram, but I’m assuming based on similar sensors that I’ve seen before that these work the same as any NC or NO dry-contact loop sensor. If that’s the case (but I can’t guarantee without additional info), then yes they will work with Konnected just as well as any other dry-contact loop sensor.

They are wired in the same way and often in the same circuit as contact sensors on the windows but the difference is when they vibrate the original alarm system did not change them to a static state of open, just a changed state. That meant they didn’t have to be reset.

With motion ‘type’ or contact ‘type’ they swap to “open” and then need to be jiggled to go back to “closed”.

With the original alarm it saw the change, but then reset. So I’m guessing it swapped from NO to NC inside the logic?
