The diagram looks like a standard “dry contact” trigger. Are you sure that this Merlin model has Security+ technology? Can you post an actual photo of the garage opener motor and wiring terminals?
You’re right it does say Security+2.0 which is probably in reference to the wireless encryption, but notably absent from this model is a wired serial terminal for a wired smart wall button. It looks like this model uses wireless-only wall button.
Unfortunately, without a wired terminal for the serial connection, the GDO blaQ would not be able to operate the garage opener.
However, this model does have a dry-contact (Normally open) for a traditional wired wall button, so that means our GDO White would certainly work to control this motor.
Apparently the “Security+” trademark really means a couple different things … it refers to the wireless RF encryption that remote control fobs and buttons use to communicate with the garage opener motor, and also separately refers to the wired serial protocol used by the wired digital keypads. To be honest, this is the first I’ve seen of a model that completely lacks a wiring terminal for a wired keypad – these don’t exist in North America!
I’m sorry to share the disappointing news. Our support team would be happy to arrange an exchange for the GDO White if you’d like.
@nate will the Smart Garage Door Opener White (v2) work on a roller door rather than a tilt up/sectional. I have noticed most of the images on the page feature a sectional/tilt up style with the optical sensor.
