Alarm1 Zone is a light in SmartThings not a Siren

I have Alarm1 configured as ‘on/off switch’ in the konnected firmware, the only other option was ‘momentary button’. SmartThings sets the zone as a light switch, not as a siren, so it cannot be used in Home Monitor so clearly cannot be triggered when there is an intrusion. All sensors have correctly been imported into ST and ST correctly shows them detecting motion or a door being opened.

Advice please on how to get my Alarm1 to be a ST siren.

Many thank, Andrew.

This is currently a limitation of the new firmware platform for the Alarm Panel Pro – ESPHome and Home Assistant don’t have a dedicated siren type but SmartThings and Hubitat do, so there’s a bit of an inconsistency there. I’m aware of the limitation and I have some ideas on how to get around it, but for now it’s a switch.

You can still use it to trigger in SmartThings when there’s an intrusion. It’ll show up in ST Home Monitor > Settings > Security > Set Response > Turn on Lights

Many thanks Nate that worked perfectly, of course!

I had been thrown by ST Home Monitoring reporting ‘Sound Sirens - None Available’ when I had configured an alarm.

Issue closed with thanks, Andrew.

hi all. is there a fix yet for the siren in smarttings. listed as a light not a siren .

Hi all, I just setup my Konnected panel and came across this thread when I had trouble setting up my “siren” in Smartthings. I set it up as a switch as recommended and that works great. However, in ST Home Monitoring, you cannot set the duration for how long it will sound since it is not an actual siren device. Is there a work around for this or is there a fix coming from Konnected? I would like the siren to only sound for 5 min vs having to dismiss the intrusion explicitly. Thanks!
