Questions around POE+ limitations and options

Hello,

I’ve been looking at purchasing a konnected alarm panel but trying to get some clarity around a couple of questions i have. Currently i have a moose z900 which i would love to replace.

Current Setup

  • Moose Z900
  • 2x hardwired door sensors (door open or closed)
  • 20x hardwired window sensors (window open or closed)
  • 2x Sirens (DS-508 & DS-50 from ATW)
  • MIGHTY MAX BATTERY 12-Volt 5A

After reading docs on POE i now have some questions to help me decide how i want to set this up and if i want to make the purchase.

  1. Backup Battery
    1. Will konnected work with my current backup battery ?
    2. What are popular alternatives so i can weigh my options or reason’s i shouldn’t use it?
  2. Amp Draw
    1. Too Much Amp Draw - If there is too much amp draw, can i damage the panel or will it work safely in a degraded state? (want to make sure how careful i need to be here)? I would like to replace 2 keypads (with tablets) and use all my existing sensors + sirens.
    2. POE++ Support - I have a switch that supports POE++. Is there anyways i can utilize this to power the board if i need more amperage? (some sort of accessory I’m not aware of?)
    3. Is POE out the window? I really wanted to power everything with a single ethernet cable but it sounds like this is out the window based on the 2 sirens i have (and i assume also if i add 2 tablets to replace the keypads)
  3. Anything else i need to be aware of or should think about or even a recommended setup based on what i got goin on
