My Pro Konnected Interface Module has been successfully installed and is connected to my WiFi. The SmartThings App Bluetooth has been turned on. The Alarm System Interface has actually not been enabled as there are no available instructions regarding the what the configuration of the Tab pictured below. Also, for some reason the SmartThings App does not see the Konnected Interface Module. Please advise me on how to mitigate these issues. Thanks.
The Interface Module is just an interface module – it doesn’t show up itself as a device or entity in SmartThings. The Alarm Panel Pro orchestrates all the “zones” or devices that are connected to it and each of those show up in SmartThings individually.
Make sure you enable Konnected Cloud in the firmware settings, then link your SmartThings account to Konnected from the SmartThings app > add device > Partner devices > Konnected.
I, along with many others, have experienced difficulty getting the Konnected app to communicate properly with the SmartThings app. I was eventually able to establish a connection through an unconventional workaround. For reference, I primarily use an iPhone. However, based on what appears to be an issue within the iOS implementation, communication between the two apps was prevented.
This was confirmed when I powered on an older Android device, downloaded both applications, and ran the offline diagnostic process. Doing so resolved the issue, and the fix was subsequently reflected in the apps on my iPhone as well.
Please consider updating the iOS applications to permanently address and resolve this communication issue. Thank you.
@Mark_Brown I think you’re a little bit confused because the Konnected app doesn’t communicate with the SmartThings app at all – that’s not how it’s supposed to work.
The Konnected app is used to provision your devices, update their settings and firmware, and get them talking to Konnected Cloud.
Then, in the SmartThings app, you can link Konnected Cloud to your SmartThings account. At no time to the two apps talk to each other.
I’m sure your confusion stems from somewhere. If you could be more specific about where you got stuck, I’d be happy to help.
