Hi all,
I’m fairly new to the Konnected community. I’ve purchased and installed a Konnected Interface Kit and had no issues with the physical install. The DSC keyswitch is configured and working, and the alarm status is correctly wired to a zone on the interface kit.
My question is specifically about the Home Assistant integration behavior. I’m running the latest ESPHome firmware (2025.12.0) on the Konnected Alarm Panel Interface Module. My integration is set up as follows:
When I trigger Siren or Warning Beep, the onboard relay closes as expected, the house arms, and the armed status changes from ON to OFF. However, this action is not a momentary pulse, the relay remains closed until I manually trigger it again to reopen it.
The problem is that reopening the relay causes the alarm status entity to flip back to its original state (ON). For clarity: reopening the relay does not disarm the house (which is correct), but Home Assistant still reports the alarm as disarmed. This makes it difficult to write reliable automations, because any script that pulses the relay briefly will correctly arm the system, then immediately report it as disarmed after the relay is released.
My questions:
-
Is this behavior expected for the Interface Kit Module when using the ESPHome firmware?
-
Is there a supported or recommended way to generate a momentary keyswitch pulse without reusing the Siren or Warning Beep outputs?
-
If this is not expected behavior, is there a known workaround or configuration change to prevent the alarm status from flipping when the relay is released?
Any guidance would be appreciated. I’ve spent several hours testing different approaches and haven’t been able to achieve a reliable keyswitch pulse with accurate status reporting.
Thank you
