Can Hubitat support encrypted and/or authenticated communication? Would be good to protect against a malicious actor on the same subnet.
Agree that this should and could be added. The Hubitat integration is built off of the open-source ESPHome-API-Library originally written by Jonathan Bradshaw (@bradsjm on Github). His version of the library was built out a couple years ago, before API encryption was really a thing. At that time ESPHome had password authentication which has since been deprecated.
It’s a thing on my to-do list … unless somebody beats me to it!
