GDO-White V2 - Open/Close logic using binary and optical sensors

I need some clarification on the use of both sensors on my newly installed GDO White. It seems because of the “any open”/“both closed” logic of the sensors that door position indication depends solely on the state of the binary sensor. When opening, the moment the binary sensor opens the door position changes from Closed to Open, with “Opening” appearing for less than a second. Closing operates as I expect it should, with “Closing” indicating until the binary sensor closes. I have previously used two binary sensors and a momentary relay to control my door, creating a virtual opener in Hubitat. By having dedicated open/close sensors the door indicated correctly - “Open” when fully open and “Closed” when fully closed. I feel that the GDO logic should be AND in both directions, indicating open when the optic sensor comes into range with the binary open and closed when the binary closes after the optic sensor is out of range. Is there a reason for the OR logic in the open direction?
