Firmware update

ST shows all offline, should I wait for the fix on the legacy firmware, told to use port 9123. How do I know its ESP firmware Im flashing? Have not noticed. BTW, I’ve done 2 previous updates in past couple weeks and always have had a problem afterwards, Never have been able to connect wirelessly. I’ll wait for a fix.

If it helps anyone, I reverted to the Konnected app version 1.4.6 and all is now working (legacy firmware using port 9123).

I’ve tried to go back to previous version but have not been able to. How did you do that? Version for me now is 1.1.4.12, and no communications, but my green, blue LED flashes as if communicating.

@Ron_D Your problem here is that you have “0 zones enabled” in the firmware settings. Go back to Settings > Manage Zones and enable the zones that you want to use by assigning a type and name.

I have done this probably a dozen times, it does not ever keep zones. I will try again. Tell me should I be doing ESP or legacy updates?

@Ron_D, On Android you uninstall the current app and find a reliable APK source online. Find the version of Konnected you want, download and sideload it. No idea about iPhones though.

I added zones again, saved the rebuild, sent me firmware, flash on my PC, picked ESP since I did not hear back, Konnected shows wireless I think connected but ST shows still all offline.,and 0 zones.

@gkelsallkonnecteu I just released Android app version 1.4.9 which fixes the issue detecting legacy devices on the network.

@Ron_D You are using the newest ESPHome-based firmware which is good. It looks like you originally set up your zones using the legacy firmware but later switched, so that’s why they are showing as offline. Please delete those zones from SmartThings, then you have to re-add them in the Konnected app. The screenshot you showed above shows 0 zones enabled. Make sure you check the “Enabled” toggle on each zone you want to enable. It should look something like this:

Once you have set up your zones, tap the back arrow, then Save & Continue, then Build now, then Update now to update the device over-the-air. You do NOT need to update it with your computer – doing it from the app is quicker and easier.

Let us know if you still get stuck.

I do not know what I am doing wrong.

I tap top panel, blue check mark,go to settings, setup zones enable 8 zones (zones 1-7 are doors windows and motion) (zone 8 my keyswitch) and alarm 2/out2 as momentary button 1000ms. back button,Save and continue, Build now, wait for preparing firmware, Update Now, installing, firmware up to date, version 1.1.4.16. Konnected app does not show any zones. ??? I think I used to have a tab, “sync to device”. do not have. Ideas?

What do I do with the Yellow Triangle showing port 9123?

Any new info or updates why my devices do not show up in ST? Pass 2 days have no communcaitions with my devices, so can not even try again. Hope someone is working on the problem.

@Ron_D sorry for the delay. It looks like some errors in the app are preventing it from saving the zone settings properly. We are looking into what’s causing that.

In the meantime, to move past it you can reset the Konnected app. Please go to the App Info in your Android device settings > Storage > Clear data to reset the Konnected app on your phone. Then reboot the Konnected device and redo the zones setup one more time. I think that should make it stick.

@Ron_D We looked into this more and I’m pretty sure I found the problem. There was a bug on our end affecting devices that were originally on the original firmware and migrated to the newer ESPHome firmware. our cloud was not recognizing them properly and that’s why the settings were not saving.

I’ve deployed a fix already. You will need to do the process one more time but it should work now.

I just upgraded my alarm panel pro to the new firmware I setup all the zones in the app in my iPhone. Saved all and built the new firmware. When sending the new firmware to the panel it bricks. Blue light flashes rapidly and now my panel is not online I have reflashed starting from scratch at least 5 times now and I can’t get it fixed!!

Do I need to go back to the old firmware?

One possibility here is that you’ve set the wrong ethernet controller version in the new firmware build. What hardware version of Alarm Panel Pro do you have (look under the logo on the front). Versions 1.7 and below use a different Ethernet chip than 1.8 and above – select the right one from the Network Settings screen.

It’s not “bricked” since you’re able to re-flash it and start over. You can also grab a log by going to install.konnected.io and click on Connect then Logs & Console. This will definitely help to see what’s going on with it.

Yes it’s not bricked which is good I currently downgraded it back to the old system just to get it working again. I have version 1.7 so that I what I tried to flash with. I am successful in flashing to that version the issue I face is once I set it up in the iPhone app it tells me to flash it with the new custom firmware in the app so I click the button and that’s when it dies. The panel then gets a rapid blue flashing light and it’s unusable needing to be flashed again.

Let us see a log so we can figure out what’s going on. Rapid blue light means that something is wrong.

So after more hours of trial and error i figured it out. When you populate all the zones and info regardless of the version you flashed you also need to go into the network settings in the app and make sure that the correct version is selected there otherwise it wont work. So i finally got it working on the new firmware now!!

Ah yes, I thought it was something network related!

You’re correct, the Ethernet type is not populated automatically in the firmware customizer. Make sure it’s set correctly for your hardware when you first set up the zones and stuff. Once set initially in the app, the setting should stick.

So I guess with this new firmware you can no longer add it to homebridge. It works in home assistant or smart things
