Are there any plans for an Ethernet/PoE version of GDO blaQ? I have a ratgdo and my biggest complaint about it is the lack of Ethernet (I’m not a fan of the unreliability of WiFi).
All of my current ESPHome devices (with the exception of ratgdo) currently support Ethernet and PoE that allows me to have connectivity and power with a single cable (I primarily use the Olimex ESP32-POE-ISO and GL.iNet GL-S10).
I’d switch from ratgdo (and pay a premium to do so) if there was an Ethernet/PoE version of blaQ.
PoE version would be fantastic, I try to eliminate WiFi devices as much as possible for performance and reliability resons and really would love to see an Ethernet/PoE (even with a power adapter failover option) version. Definitely would have to get myself one if it’s ever produced.
It’s been requested a lot. Definitely on our “list” but I haven’t started work on this one yet.
I’m working on the next version of the Alarm Panel currently and through that we’re refining our Ethernet design, which should be something that could theoretically be carried over to an Ethernet-enabled GDO product down the road.
