I have inherited a Marantec Comfort 250 in my new house. It has a Came box attached where you would wire in the Konnected garage door opener . This allows us to have one combined fob that works the garage door and the gate.
Could I wire a Konnected garage door opener into the same terminals at the same time, or would this cause problems?
You could … but it would trigger both doors at the same time. Is that what you want?
Post a photo of the controller terminals if you can and I will take a closer look.
I think I didn’t explain it well. At the moment we have two button fobs where the left button works the gate and the right button works the garage door. This is just for the convenience of not needing two fobs.
To achieve this, whoever owned the house before wired a Came transponder into the garage opener @433mHz rather than clone the Marantec 833mHz (I might have the numbers wrong).
I now want to add a Smart opener to the garage door (primarily so I can monitor if it is open or not).
If I can wire a Konnected opener into the same terminals as the Came transponder, I don’t think this will affect the gate opening function, would it?
I see. Yes, you can wire the DOOR terminals from the Konnected GDO White to terminals 1 and 2 on the Marantec. This will enable the GDO White to trigger the door.
You can test this by shorting terminals 1 and 2 on the Marantec box with a small piece of wire or a metal paperclip. If the door moves when the terminals are connected via wire, it works!
However, this doesn’t give it feedback if the door is open or closed or not. For that, you can either use the built-in optical laser sensor on the GDO White if it’s mounted correctly, or use an external sensor wired to the INPUT terminals on the GDO White.
