Can I download the ESPHome yaml from my existing device? (re: unable to Adopt device to ESPHome dashboard)

I’m using ESPHome in a dedicated Docker container and not from inside Home Assistant.

My Konnected Alarm Pro is working fine but I’d like to add it to my ESPHome dashboard but I don’t see the Adopt option. However, it does appear in Home Assistant and also works fine.

Can I download the generated YAML file that I’m using and re-install it from the ESPHome dashboard maybe?

Would like the same for the same reason. Perhaps we’re missing something, but I can’t see how to “manually” add a device to ESPHome either.

If you’re using the Konnected app and our firmware build/update service, you cannot also add the device to ESPHome builder. You can’t really have two systems managing the firmware config for the same device. Choose one or the other.

Hi Nate,

Being that the legacy Konnected.io integration is going away in Home Assistant next year. It would be nice/helpful to have a web based YAML builder/configuration tool, or an additional option in Zone Settings on the mobile app to download the YAML (skipping the cloud compile and OTA update). This would make it much easier for users to configure their zones without having to get deep into the YAML.

It would also be nice to have an ESPHome YAML reference guide to make the transition easier. (if there is one I apologize, I couldn’t find it).

While I’m on a feature request kick, it would also be great to be able to do Zone configuration directly form the device’s webpage.

The legacy integration experience was more user friendly, but the above features would make it on par or better IMHO.

Thanks.
