Alexa is not getting status change responses from GDO blaQ

Alexa is able to control my GDO blaQ controlled garage doors with no problems (open, close, and provide status when asked). However, after opening or closing one of the doors, instead of getting the confirmation response from Alexa, there is a pause of about 15–30 seconds before she says something like “hmm, I can’t control the right now. Please try again later.” This occurs despite the fact that the door was opened or closed as requested. Both doors are running firmware v1.5.4.1. SYNCED is “on” on both devices. Any suggestions? Also, where can I find documentation on the meaning / function of all of the device settings for the GDO blaQ? Thanks.

Sorry for the late reply here. @hmartin I looked into your account and I see that Alexa de-authorized your instance of the Alexa Skill for Konnected on November 15.

Please go back to the Konnected skill in the Alexa app, and re-link the skill to your Konnected account. This should fix the problem.

@nate, thanks for the response. I probably disabled it during my troubleshooting, but immediately re-enabled the skill after that. In any case, it shows as enabled in the Alexa app and, as I described, everything works except for the lack of correct confirmation after the door is opened or closed. I can disable and reenable the skill again if you think that might help.

Yes try disable and re-enable from the Alexa app. This generates a new token that our cloud uses to send responses to Alexa so that should get it going again.

OK, I did that. But this time, I also deleted the garage doors from Alexa after disabling the skill and before I re-enabled it. After re-enabling the skill, the garage doors were rediscovered. I then changed the names of the garage doors in Alexa as needed. Now, the behavior is different. Whenever I tell Alexa to open or close the doors, it announces its intention, but then immediately announces the current state of the door (e.g. “the garage door is closed” while the door is opening.)

Here’s an exchange:

<Hugh’s garage door is currently open>

Me: Alexa, close Hugh’s garage door.

Alexa: Closing, hang on. The Hugh’s garage door is open.

<the door closes; there are no further announcements from Alexa>

@hmartin I think you just need to update your device(s) firmware. This sounds like something that was fixed several months ago. Just go to the Konnected app, tap on Settings for each device, and run thru the firmware update process.

I updated both devices from 1.5.4.1 (2025.10.4) to 1.5.6.1 (2025.12.1), but no change in behavior. Is it time for a factory reset via the web UI?

No that won’t do anything helpful.
I’ll check into this more tomorrow.
