Use of Zone 1 with Vista

To all,

If using Zone 1 on a Vista board for a Keyswitch, this is the wiring required.
Run a wire from Vista board connection 8 to one of the relays. Run a wire from Vista board connection 9 to the other side of the relay. Use a 2000k ohm resistor to connect one side of the relay to the other

Vista 8 > wire > Side one of 6 Zone Adapter relay

Vista 9 > wire > Side two of 6 Zone Adapter relay

Side one of above relay > 2000 ohm > Side two of above relay.

You are using the resistor as a jumper across the relays. Resistor is not in series. You can them use a wire to short between 8 and 9, should is a ding (if set) as you short out 8 and 9. This will also turn off the Check 01 message on the Panel.

I have a Vista-P20 system with 8 zones. Zone 1 was open and all others wired. Did the parallel wiring for Zones 2-8 and that appears to be good. As only Zone 1 free, wanted to use it for the Keyswitch. Bought a 2000 ohm resistor and tested with a meter. Did the wiring as stated, High/Com for Zone 1 to the relay contacts on the 6 Zone Adapter module. Then ran the In on the 6 Zone Adapter to Output 1 on the Alarm Panel Pro. Did the programming on the Honeywell Panel. But seeing Check 01 on the Honeywell Panel. Anyone else seen this? I know Zone 1 is different on the VIsta, but documentation states Zone 1 can be used with a resistor.

I found this thread. It points to a another thread but unfortunately it appears to be dead. So it seems that one has to connect from Input 8 to the one leg of the relay with both a wire and also in parallel a 2000 ohm resistor. So parallel wiring not serial. Any help would be appreciated.
