I’m using the standalone feature (manual, not via the Konnected app toggle), but I’ve noticed that that the alarm state doesn’t persist after reboot. Is there a way to fix this?
@deviate Correct, right now the key advantage to the standalone alarm panel feature over Alarmo is that the arming and siren logic will still work even if HA is down. Yes, Alexa arming/disarming support will be coming shortly!
@gkelsallkonnecteu An output for a door chime must be set as a momentary or fixed-duration pulse. Try setting the output as a multi-output and then configure a “beep” pattern like 3 beeps. Then you will be able to set it as a chime.
@simon_bodek looks like you got sorted out with our support!
@shaus Yes! this is coming soon.
@jakeman2048 I’m not sure what you are referring to the “manual” and not thru the app. Can you elaborate?
Thanks @nate that worked.
Hi Nate, a fingerprint sensor integrated into the standalone system would be great- so useful with my teenage kids. Please!
Hello @nate ! Sorry, I just meant that I implemented myself via Template Alarm Control Panel — ESPHome and with flashing my own firmware via your instructions on ESPHome Firmware Customization Basics. I wasn’t sure if the konnected implementation (via the app toggle) of alarm_control_panel was different or not.
If you arm your panel, turn off HA, then reset your panel’s power, does your panel come back in the armed state?
Thanks!
Yes, we use the Template Alarm Panel component of ESPHome under the hood as well, so it should work the same.
Set restore_mode: RESTORE_DEFAULT_DISARMED
to restore to the previous state if the the device loses power or reboots.
Oh, thanks! I somehow didn’t see that option before. Haha
Wow - I just saw this. I’ll have to try installing it right away on my Alarm Panel Pro.
I’d love to see it continue with Wiegand keypad support, and therefore the ability to set up a few different access codes for different users. (I use a Wiegand-capable keypad already, but have it wired up just as a simple dry-contact at the moment, which is a bit limiting).
Does the firmware currently support a momentary pulse on an input (e.g. from my keypad) to toggle the alarm state (disarmed<->arming)?
Can I ask another question about this: in my Alarmo integration, I see 6 standard “actions” listed which I believe were automatically created by Alarmo (although it was so long ago that perhaps I’ve forgotten):
Alarm triggered - Sirens on
Alarm disarmed - Sirens off
Alarm buzzer during arming
Alarm buzzer during entry delay
Alarm buzzer off once armed
Alarm buzzer off once disarmed
Would I need to write new HA automations in place of these with the standalone feature, or are these standard behaviours already built in?
Hm I still cannot find the pending and arming states in HA. Anyone else got this to work so that during these states a sound or light signal can be triggered in HA?
+1 for local keypad…
Quick question concerning the Standalone feature.
Know we know with HA and Alarmo, if your HA PC is off (power outage, defective etc) HA reverts back to last state for the alarm when it will boot up and you need to un-arm your alarm.
Here is my question, if I use the SA feature and my PC turns off or my HA is unavail. when I re-enter the house. I’m guessing I won’t be able to disable the alarm and it will trigger right away right since it’s still in it’s last active state?
Only way to deactivate the Konnected alarm would be to manually remove power to it or logging in via it’s IP address locally and turning it off?
@phil_bed was wondering the same, and I think you could sign into the local web page of the Konnected device and switch off the siren. The alarm would still be in the triggered state though.
@phil_bed Yes that’s true for now. However, I’m working on a couple of local alternative methods to arming/disarming the standalone alarm. This will include initially a keyswitch and/or local keypad, so that you’re not 100% reliant on HA for arming and disarming control.
using the konnected.io app to make my own esphome configuration.
I do have all the home assistant entities, but i can’t see the konnected yaml in the ESPHome Builder. I somehow deleted it, because it was there on the start?
Is it possible to edit the configured yaml which is comming from the konnected.io app?
I’m looking for a dedicated DISARM button to work in stand-alone mode.
Hi,
Did you ever get an answer?
If so could you please provide me the link.
@nate , in January of this year in this topic, you said this to @stannie
So I’ve been searching the forum and can’t find the answer to his question. Thinking that there has been a lot of app software and/or firmware upgrades since January, today I setup the standalone feature using the current app software (1.6.5) and firmware (1.2.1.9) to see if this option was available in the setup, or maybe just defaulted in the firmware. I didn’t find it in the app and it doesn’t work when testing with this latest firmware build. While the door chime works fine, turning on the warning buzzer during the entry delay/exit delay/pending alarm does not seem to be an option in the app setup.
Researching further, it seems all the correct code (to turn on a warning buzzer connected to OUT 1) is already in the ESPHome Customization on the Konnected Alarm Panel Pro, and I think I understand that you use this as the basic logic in your firmware. I just don’t have the knowledge to load this firmware into my PRO board and will have to wait for the Konnected app to do it for me.
Or I guess the real question is has this feature been implemented yet and I just don’t see it? I do notice that the latest version of the app (1.6.5) was last released on Jan 29, 2025, so maybe you haven’t updated the app yet?
It seems like such a small thing and such a “of course my alarm system does that!”
Can you give us all an update on this feature please, and maybe a timeframe?
Thanks Nate!
I’ve been playing around with this nifty feature but noticed that the webUI hosted by alarm (as well as switches in HA) will allow one to turn off the siren etc outside of disarming. Is that the intention?
The individual entities and switches still work independently. There isn’t anything that prevents the siren from being turned off by other actions or controls.
