I am interested in adding the DIY board or an Off The Shelf NodeMCU/ESP8266 board to control a garage door and monitor temperature. The garage is a separate structure but can receive WiFi. Can I use something like the DIY board and connect that into the alarm system using WiFi?
Has anyone done this? What firmware is used?

Funny, I bought a garage door sensor and a DIY relay board with my Alarm Panel Pro with this intention as well. Recently added the Konnected garage door opener without ever heading down the other road. Guess I’ve got an extra relay!
